Weekend Link-Up: Getting Creative with Food

We used to have a problem getting Big Brother to eat. (We have me to thank for his childhood pickiness.) Things are getting better, though he's mostly interested in only eating fruit. Which is better than him only wanting to eat junk food, I guess. I've read about being creative with your toddler/child's food and how it works to actually encourage them to eat a variety of items, but I haven't had the time to create anything fun out of food for our little one yet.

But I really want to. I do.

So here are five of the cutest food plates I have come across so far on Pinterest:

A Rainy Day Lunch
My favorite. Big Brother would love this, I'm sure. Blackberries are one of his favorite fruits, and I think this weather theme is so fitting, seeing as his Papa is a Weather Forecaster and all!

 Bird Nest Spaghetti
We don't often have meatballs with our spaghetti (we're talking one time since Chris and I have been married) but this would be a fun twist for spaghetti night for all of us.

Octopus Sausages
How cute are these little fellas? And of course we'd use Boar's Head all natural Frankenfurters instead of hot dogs.

Very Hungry Caterpillar Snack
We are all about some Eric Carle these days which makes this so fitting.

Swimming Fishies Lunch
Another one of Big Brother's favorite fruits = blueberries, so this one would be a huge hit. And come on, folks, those little fish sandwiches are edibly adorable.

One day I will make fun and creative food plates for my babies. I will. And when I do I'll be sure to blog about it. I will.

Have you ever created any fun food for your little ones? What did you make and how did they respond?
